Alisyn Camerota

Alisyn Camerota, 51, was born on 21st June 1966 in Bellingham, USA. She has two elder sisters and a brother, surgeon of abdominal surgery. She attended American University in Washington DC where she pursued her degree in Broadcasting Journalism.

Alisyn Camerota married Tim Lewis, investment manager when she turned 36. They are blessed with three children: Alessandra, Francesca, Nathaniel.

At the time of her graduation, she got the first job of a waitress at Friendly's Ice Cream parlor. Camerota worked in various channels such as WHDH in Boston and WTTG in Washington D.C. in her early days in journalism where she began collecting news related to taboo matter for the show called America’s Most Wanted.

She has also experience working on Ted Koppel’s documentaries for Koppel Communications. Finally, in 1998, she got a chance to join Fox News Channel as a news correspondent in Boston Agency.

At the end of the afternoon broadcast on March 14, 2014, Camerota marked the end of her 16-year run with the network in a teary-eyed farewell to her afternoon audience.

On July 14, 2014, CNN and CNN International announced that Camerota has joined the CNN news team to serve as a TV anchor with a time slot to be announced in the coming months. Camerota co-anchored on CNN’s New Day the morning of Friday, July 25, 2014 and Monday, August 25, 2014. In 2015 Camerota became a permanent co-anchor of New Day.
