Bret Baier was born on 4 August 1970 in Rumson, New Jersey, United States of America. He went to Marist High School which is a private Roman Catholic High School located in Atlanta, Georgia. After he completed his school high school in 1988 he then joined DePaw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He graduated in political science and English study in 1992.
Bret Baier is a family man who is married to wife Amy Baier. Bret and Amy have two sons. His first son Paul was born having five congenital heart defects and he has an open heart surgery at his small age. The family were invited to the Oval Office by President George W. Bush and got an update about Paul's health. Bret was named as a 'Significant Sig' by the Sigma Chi Fraternity to which he has a member of in his university.
He is also an inspirational figure whose weight loss story is very much famous. He lost his 48 pounds; he was 245 before and 197 after his loss.

The first stage of Bret Baier began as he joined WRAL-TV, a local station situated in Rockford, Illinois. He then joined CBS and later was seen on NBC. Bert was hired by Fox Network as an Atlanta bureau chief after he sent an audition tape in 1998.
On 11 September 2001, Bret went to cover the Pentagon attack from Atlanta bureau instead stayed there being the Pentagon correspondent. He worked there for five years and made trips to Afghanistan and Iraq.
In 2007 fox News named his as a White House Correspondent where he covered the George W. Bush's administration works. In the following year, he became the official anchor for the 'Special Report' as he was doing the job as the substitute of anchor Brit Hume.
