Carolyn Gusoff did bachelor’s degree in Government and English from George W. Hewlett High School, Cornell University. She earned a master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
In September 1991, Gusoff got married facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jon Turk. The couple is blessed with have two children.
Professional life
She initiated her career in the field of journalism from WEVU-TV at Fort Myers, Florida. In the late 1980s, Carolyn joined News 12 Long Island. In August of the year 1993, she switched to WNBC as the Long Island Correspondent and Bureau Chief. She became part of WNYW Fox 5 in 2009.
During her career, she has included many remarkable incidents like the crash of TWA Flight 800, the Blizzard of 1996, and the crash of American Airlines Flight 587.
She is also an author and has written a book called Buried Memories: Katie Beers' Story which is regarded as the New York Times bestseller.
