Hiscox began her professional career in journalism and broadcasting from CFPL-TV, CBC Montreal, Global Television Network and CHCH, stationed in Hamilton, Ontario prior to returning back to CBC at the national level. She was partnered with Steve Garrison and assigned the role of co-host in a morning show 1290 CJBK in London, Ontario.
