Kasia Madera

Kaisa Madera, born as Katarzyna Madera, was born on the 4th of October in London, England in 1975 as the daughter of Polish parents.

She attended Queen Mary & Westfield, University of London and graduated with a 2:1 in French and politics. She went on to study at City University London and received a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism.

Madera, currently living at Hammersmith district of west London, gave birth to her first child, a boy in 2011.

In 2002, Madera joined the BBC graduate program and began presenting the youth-oriented news bulleting 60 Seconds on BBC Three. After that she moved to presenting entertainment and celebrity news on E24.

Madera presents as a regular stand-in on BBC News Channel, while also fulfilling her duties on Newsday and World News Today as a news presenter. She is partnered with Babita Sharma to present on the BBC News Channel, also broadcasted on BBC World simultaneously.

Because of her Polish speaking skills, BBC News Channel assigned her to report on the 2007 Polish parliamentary election, the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 Crash in Russia, in which the Polish President Lech Kaczynski was killed, the 2014 and 2015 European Elections. She also covered the death of Nelson Mandela on BBC One, BBC World News, BBC News Channel and PBC.

She was able to become one of the main relief presenters of World News Today, broadcasted on both BBC Four and BBC World News in 2013, and moved up to become the deputy presenter after the departure of Zeinab Badawi.  She has been occasionally presenting for BBC News Channel during the weekends from 2017.

Madera is available on social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter and is very popular.

The 42 year old joined twitter in January 2009 at @BBCKaisaMadera and since then, has gained 9 thousand followers, while tweeting around 6500 times.

She also possesses a Facebook page in which 2900 people have liked her page and 2900 people are following her.
