Kate Beirness

Kate Beirness came into this world on the 8th of March in Port Perry, Ontario in Canada in 1984 as the daughter of Chris and John. Beirness spent her childhood in Port Perry.

Her parents worked as teachers and had always been supportive of Beirness’s dream, which was to play at the WNBA because she was exceptionally skilled in basketball. She spent her high school days playing basketball and was hoping to get the point guard position at CIS level.

But because her parents had prepared her for the worst case scenario, even though she tore her ACL and had to quit basketball, she was not depressed or let down by that; instead, she began focusing on another career path. Not giving up on her ambitions to do something in life, she pursued higher education at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from college.

Unfortunately, not much information is available when it comes to Beirness’s relationship status or love affairs since she likes to keep her love life very private. But hopefully, we will get to know her a little better in the future.

Beirness chose journalism as the career in which she will dedicate her life to, and has found it to be quite fruitful so far. During the first steps of her journey, she had worked at Rogers TV First Local and at /A\ Barrie as a sports reporter and sports anchor respectively.

She currently works on the popular show Sportscenter and when she had first begun her job at the program, she worked alongside Bryan Mudryk very often and it was like that until the July of 2013. She also began working alongside Darren Dutchyshen, the new co-host, after Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole departed from the popular late night and morning loop spots in the October of 2013 on TSN.

However, Dutchyshen was only filling up for Jennifer Hedger when she was on her maternity leave. Later, Beirness went on to form the first only female anchoring partnership with Natasha Staniszewski on Sportscenter.

Beirness is as much popular, if not more, on the internet as she is in the real world. Her fans and followers all over the world have helped her build a large social profile with a wide reach across some of the most popular social networking sites thorough sheer number of followers.
