Kayla Tausche

Kayla McCall Tausche was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 9th February, 1986. She attended the Greater Atlanta Christian School and graduated in 2004.

She went on to study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated by earning a Bachelor’s degree in business journalism and international politics in 2008. For her brilliant in-depth research for analyzing the way international newspapers covered the handover of Hong Kong from British to Chinese rule, Tausche has received honors.

During her college years, she was really fond of cheerleading and was on the college team. She also loves running marathons. Tausche is also a member of the alumni board of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Tausche had already begun her journey in journalism while she was still at college when she had been working at the Brussels bureau of the Associated Press.

She began covering the consumer and retail news at Bloomberg L.P. after graduating from college and later moved on to join the DealReporter unit of Mergemarket. She frequently made appearances on CNBC and CNBC World for discussions on mergers and acquisitions while she was at DealReporter.

In the January of 2011, Tausche was hired by CNBC as their general assignment reporter and began covering corporate finance and deals for the news station’s business day programs. In addition to this, Tausche is a regular contributor to MSNBC, Today, Weekend Today, and NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.

She has done a lot of praise-worthy tasks while covering high-profile stories. Tausche has also been featured on The Financial Times with media mogul Rupert Murdoch on the front page. She was working on the News Corporation phone hacking scandal at the time.

Tausche has reported and analyzed the Facebook IPO and gained a lot of coverage by many outlets. She also filled in as the substitute anchor for Squawk Box, Squawk on the Street and Power Lunch and was officially hired as a co-anchor of Squawk Alley until the April of 2017.
