Career in Radio
Lisa started her career in Radio as a reporter in Coventry for Kix96 and later moved on to Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton.
She has also worked at HeartFM and DNN in Birmingham.
Career as a Reporter
She started out as a reporter after being hired by Sky News in 2005. With Sky News, Lisa has covered many major events in United Kingdom. She was assigned to lead the team to cover the Derby house fire in which Mick and Mairead Philpott were convicted for killing their six children.
Later she was also present to cover the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the murder of Welsh school April Jones, and the riots in England in 2011. In addition to this, Dowd was also given responsibility to cover the appalling cruelty case of Daniel Pelka in Coventry and the substandard care scandal at Stafford hospital.
She was able to secure an exclusive half hour interview with the brother of the fugitive Raoul Moat, who was being hunted down. Before Sky, Dowd had also worked at ITV Central.

Dowd has managed to gain a lot of recognition and her job as a journalist has made it easy for her to increase her social profile. She is popular on the social networking site Twitter.
