Susan Li : Personal Life
Li, who celebrates her birthday on the 1st of May, was born in China. Her family then shifted to Canada and Li spent her childhood days in Tornoto. Li mentions her mother, who single handedly took care of the household works while also earning for her family as a single parent, to be her mentor.
Li went on to study at the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. She is fluent in English and is also able to speak Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.
Unfortunately, not much information on her relationship status or the identity of her family members has been disclosed to the media.
Susan Li : Professional Life
Li began her career in journalism by working at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation at multiple positions including associate producer and freelance reporter for both the radio and television of the news station.
She went on to host the CCTV International at China Central Television for 3 years (2003-2006) and was responsible for leading the primetime world news broadcasts, where she also did some news editing works. During her time at CCTV, she had the opportunity of interviewing famous personalities including the Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, LVMH’s Bernard Arnault, and Yao Ming, a professional basketball player.
In 2006, Bloomberg Television hired Li as their hostess for Asia Business Tonight, the channel’s first primetime evening newscast in the Asia-Pacific region. Later in 2010, she also began hosting Bloomberg Edge and Morning Call. She also worked as the host for First Up with Susan Li morning business show. She has also worked as the co-host for Asia Edge, a show that featured a higher number of extensive interviews and news coverage.
Li became known all over the world as she also took part in Bloomberg International’s global programming. She has interviews a lot of renowned business personalities and government leaders, including the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, US Ambassador to China Gary Locke, Citi CEO Michael Corbat, Baidu CEO Robin Li, Author Malcolm Gladwell, BlackRock Chairman and CEO Larry Finkand, and American casino developer Steve Wynn.
She was present to cover major events including the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, the Shanghai World Expo, the Chinese stock market bubble, and the Global Financial Crisis.
Li was nominated for the Best News Anchor award at the Asian Television Awards in 2008. Her program First Up won the Best News Program Award in 2012.
Li departed from Bloomberg Television to join CNBC Asia in 2014 and co-anchor Asia Squawk Box. She has been partnered with Martin Soong to co-host the program until 31 March 2014.
Leaving CNBC Asia, Li moved on to join CNBC Europe, where she started working as the co-anchor for Worldwide Exchange partnering with Wilfred Forest and Carolin Roth.
After CNBC Europe, Li started working as a correspondent and relief presenter for CNBC starting from January of 2016.

The 32-year-old young journalist has already established herself as a professional and talent journalist all over the world. The gorgeous host is really popular of social networking sites as well.
She joined Twitter, available at @SusanLiTV, on December 2011 and has already collected 14 thousand followers while tweeting around 4500 times. Her career has only just begun and it’s safe to predict that one day Li will hit a million followers. Similarly, Li is also available on Instagram at @susyqli and has around 1500 followers.
